Hooda has played 123 T20 matches and 46 first-class matches. He claimed that Pandya had kept him from practicing. As per his alleged letter to the board, when he was practicing in the nets for the next day’s match with the permission of Mr. Prabhakar, the head coach, Krunal stepped in and began misbehaving with him. Even after making it clear that he has got permission to practice from the head coach, Krunal told Hooda that he is the captain and the overall Baroda team. Hooda accused Krunal of stopping him from practicing showing his ‘Dadagiri’. Thereafter, Krunal had been suspended for the rest of the season.

Hooda is sad to quit Baroda as he has played for the team throughout his career. However, he has spoken to his well-wishers, coaches, and believed this to be the right decision.

What Other Cricket Experts have to Say in this Matter

His letter to Ajit Lele, BCA secretary read that he has been left under pressure, depressed, and demoralized by the behavior of Krunal Pandya. He believes that the incident that transpired between him and Krunal in January, could have been handled better by the board.

Irfan Pathan, the former Indian all-rounder tweeted with disappointment asking, how many cricket associations are going to lose out on a player who is on the list of potential players for the Indian team. Pathan believes Hooda could have easily played for more than 10 years since he is still young. He thinks it is a huge loss for Baroda, the 5-time Ranji Trophy winners.

The chairman of Baroda Cricket Association, Satyajit Gaekwad stated that the apex council has decided that Hooda will not be taken into account to represent the Baroda team for the present domestic season. This decision had been taken after taking into account the reports from the coach and team manager from the incident. He mentioned that they have also communicated with Hooda about this.

Ajit Lele said that they have issued the NOC to Hooda on Wednesday. He too believes that the incident could have been handled in a pragmatic way.
