Every Record Mohamed Salah Has Set This Season

African Top Scorer In The Premier League

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah officially became Africa’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League, after taking over the top spot from Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

The Ivorian striker had been Africa’s highest goal scorer in the English Top Flight ever since his last campaign with Chelsea, as he ended up recording 104 goals in the league. That record, however, was broken by Salah against Manchester United last weekend.

Having bagged a hat-trick in the game – he was listed among the players to score over 2.5 goals in a single game – his goal tally went up to 107 goals in the Premier League, making him Africa’s all-time goal scorer in the Premier League.

Consecutive Goals

Scoring against United at Old Trafford extended Salah run of goal scoring form to 10 games. As he found the back of the net in each of Liverpool’s games since their clash with Burnley earlier in the campaign.

The Egypt international is currently in red hot form and it is also the first time in Liverpool history that a player has managed to score in 10 consecutive games in all competitions.

His goalscoring form could be extended once more when Liverpool faces Brighton & Hove Albion, after being rested in their midweek game against Preston North End.

Liverpool’s Fastest Player To Reach 100 Goals

Being in a red hot form this season, he was able to hit and surpass the 100-Premier League goal mark for the Merseyside club earlier this campaign. Making him become the fastest player in the club’s history to do so.

In just 151 matches for the Reds, Salah was able to register over 100 goals for the English club. Earlier in his Liverpool career, he became the first Liverpool star to register at least 20 goals in three separate Premier League seasons. And from the looks of it, this season will extend it to be the fourth one.

His record v Manchester United

Salah is noted to have a record for scoring at the prolific stadium of Liverpool’s rival, Manchester United. His three goals on Sunday meant that he has been able to register a goal in his last three games at Old Trafford.

With this, Salah became the first player in Liverpool’s history to score in three consecutive games at the home of the Red Devils. Not a good record to keep, if you’re a United supporter.

Although Salah is not the first player to bag a hat-trick at Old Trafford, he is the first player to do so since 2003. Brazilian legend, Ronaldo, was the last player to find the net three times, after destroying the Red Devils’ defence in a Champions League match almost 18 years ago. Registering three goals at Old Trafford is not an easy feat. As you can tell just from the last time this was achieved.

Goals in Five Opening Games

Liverpool was pitched against Norwich City at the beginning of the 2021/22 campaign. The Reds easily defeated Norwich and Salah was able to bag a goal from it.

This made the Egyptian forward the first player to score in the opening game of the season in the last five league campaigns.
