Ruparel Navratri Utsav 2017
Finally, it’s grooving time of the year in Mumbai. Dandiya and Garba nights. Traditional clothes, dhol beats, sweets and dance commence the Navratri season. The nine day festival that idolizes the triumph of good over Evil and that worships feminine divinity, Goddess Durga. Here, in Mumbai, 90s sensational singer and Dandiya Queen- “Falguni Pathak” performed at Ghatkopar in ‘Ruparel Navratri Utsav’.
Ruparel being a secular company believes in celebrating all festivals with sincerity and excitement. It is said that Navratri is the season of Pathak. This was the biggest dandiya event in whole of Mumbai and Maharashtra. She performed with her band on all the nine days, people from everywhere in India came to spin and dance on her event.
Just a week before Navratre people start taking dandiya classes, so that they can perform at Pathak’s event.
Nicely dressed up in lehengas,ghagra-choli,and suits , people of all ages, dance and groove on the songs of Falguni., certain awards are also given for Best dance group, best dressed female and male, best dancer, and etc.
Passes were and have always been quite reasonable starting from INR 700 to 1000, while a season pass costing around INR 4000. Around 4-5 k people became a part of the event. Falguni Pathak, is a singer and performing artist from India, based in Mumbai. It is said that Falguni has been given a whopping 1.75 crore plus taxes for performing at the event. Amongst other melodious numbers, Falguni’s new song “Jode Rejo Raaj” which is a recreation of traditional gujarati song set the dance floor on fire.
Rains were an area of concern this time. Howeverthe organizers made sure that the rains don’t dampen the zeal amongst the revellers. For this , wooden platform were laid down in Two -lakh-sq-ft area as a large number of people turned up for the event .
Security is also an equally challenging aspect while organizing such grand events. However, the security arrangements made at Ruparel Dandiya Utsav were quite impressive.
While the organizers promised hassle free entry by checking the entry passes and no identities, they simultaneously ensured that the security was not compromised. Mumbai’s reputed security agency has been appointed , security personnel were present in huge numbers, more than 150 IP cameras were installed and there were around 150 female bouncers and security guards present to ensure more security to the females.
Crowd management was satisfactory and smooth except for a few glitches here and there. But those can be easily overlooked considering the number of people attending the event. Around 50 Restrooms were arranged for men and women separately. Ambulance services were also arranged to function in case of any unfortunate happening.
Over all the event was loaded with lots of fun and merry times. Efficient and convenient arrangements along with good décor and great performances. This sure is a very nice conclusion to the Navratri festivities. And, just in case you missed it this year, be prepared well in advance for the next one.
