Apple Rabri recipe

Ingredients:
  • Full fat milk – 500 ml
  • Apple(medium sized) – 1
       Method:

Boil milk in a heavy-bottomed pan. To make rabri, keep stirring in between and allow it to reduce to half. Keep aside. Grate the apple, reserving a few slices for the garnish. Add the grated apple to the rabri. Serve warm or chilled garnished with apple slices.

Mishti Doi recipe:

Ingredients:
  • Full fat sweetened milk – 500 ml
  • Curd culture (jaman) – 1 Tsp
Method:

Heat the milk till it is lukewarm. Add the curd culture (jaman) and beat well. Pour in small earthen bowls and keep in a warm place overnight to set. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving this refreshing dessert.

  • Tip: Use brown sugar to sweeten the milk if you want lush brown colored mishti doi (like the ones you get in Bengali sweet shops)

Doodh Peda Recipe

Ingredients:
  • Full fat milk – 500 ml
  • Brown sugar (powdered) – to taste
Method:

Boil milk in a heavy-bottomed pan. Stirring continuously, reduce until it forms a solid mass. Add in the powdered brown sugar. Pinch small portions of the dough and roll them between your palms to form small, round pedas. You can optionally garnish the pedas with a pinch of cardamom powder or chopped nuts like pistachios or almonds. Press the garnish gently onto the pedas.

Coconut Laddu Recipie

Ingredients

  • 2 cups desiccated coconut
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

Method –

In a mixing bowl, combine the desiccated coconut and sweetened condensed milk. Mix the ingredients well to form a sticky dough. Pinch small portions of the mixture and roll them between your palms to form round ladoos. Place the ladoos on a tray lined with parchment paper. Let them cool and set for a few hours at room temperature. Once the ladoos have set, they are ready to be served. You can store them in an airtight container for several days.
