The Nobel prize is one of the most prestigious prizes in the world. Until 1969, Nobel prize was given only in five fields, but afterward, a 6th field was added. Nobel prize was awarded annually from a fund bequeathed for this purpose by the Swedish industrialist and inventor Alfred Nobel. The Nobel prize is widely regarded as the most prestigious award given for intellectual achievements in the world. India does not stand back. India has various Nobel prize winners to date. Here is a list of Nobel prize winners in India. We will also explore the Indian scientist Nobel prize winner.

As per the words of Alfred Nobel, the prize is given to all who have conferred the greatest benefit of mankind. The Nobel prize is given for physics, chemistry, psychology, medicine, literature, and peace. The first distribution of Nobel prize took place on 10 December 1901, which was also the fifth anniversary of Alfred Nobel‘s death. After the death of Alfred Nobel, the Nobel foundation took care of the funds and administration. The Nobel Laureates can be groups or individuals. Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel prize in peace because of her kind and soulful work in helping the suffering humanity. She set up Society for missionaries that provide help to the poorest of the poor in various countries and give them relief from floods, epidermic‘s, famines, for refugees and aids other sufferings.

Year- 1998

Amartya Sen received two Nobel prize awards in the year 1998 for his major contribution to the welfare of economics And social choice theory. He was the first Indian to get to Nobel laureates at a time. Sen is an Indian scientist Nobel prize winner.
