Bachelor of Law (LLB)Duration: 3 years Eligibility: Aspirants must have completed Graduation or Equivalent from a recognized board with at least 45%.
MCADuration: 3 years Eligibility: One must have completed Graduation in BCA (with 45% marks or BSc Computer Science with a minimum of 45% marks or any graduate degree. With maths and a one-year certificate course in computer from any renowned university or equivalent.
B.Com (Hons.)Duration: 3 years Eligibility: 50% of aggregate marks in 10+2.
B.Sc (Hons.)Duration: 3 years Eligibility: 50% marks in 10+2. Subjects: Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology, and Industrial Microbiology.

Patna University Admission takes through online and offline mode. Aspirants who desire to apply to any of the courses can download the application form from the official website and submit the same. In general, to be eligible for any U.G. course, aspirants must have a score of 50% or more in 10th + 12th.

For admission to P.G. programs, aspirants must be a graduate in the relevant streams from a recognized university. The admission process to a majority of the courses is based on various entrance tests – PUCET, BLET, MEET, and MLET.

Successful candidates get a call for admission based on the marks. However, there are various other courses that do not require entrance exams. Entry to such courses happens through direct admission on the basis of marks in previous qualifications.

Patna University – Entrance Tests

  1. Admission to courses like – B.S.W., B.A., BSc, BCom, B.Lib.I.Sc, B.B.A., B.F.A. and others require the scores of PUCET (Patna University Common Entrance Test).
  2. The University conducts BEET and BLET exams respectively for B.Ed and LL.B courses,
  3. For courses like – M.C.A., M.Sc, MA, ML.Lib.I.Sc, M.Com and M.S.W., separate entrance tests are conducted.
  4. Students must qualify CAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ JMET for M.A. (PMIR or Rural Studies) and M.B.A. courses. There will also be GD / PI rounds after clearing those exams.
  5. Patna University conducts MEET and MLET tests for the M.Ed and LL.M courses respectively.
  6. For PhD programs, students must take the PhD Admission Test (PAT) for admission. UGC NET, CSIR NET, GATE, MHRD Scholarships, Teacher Fellowship, D.B.T, ICMR, ICAR, DST-INSPIRE, CSIR, and ICHR qualified aspirants can also apply for PhD. 

There will also be, which will take place only after the declaration of the merit list. The shortlisted candidates will have to participate in the counselling process.

Patna University – How to Apply

Below mentioned are the steps to apply for the various undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Patna University. 

  1. Aspirants must visit the official website of the Patna University.
  2. Then click on ‘Apply Online’, after that students must click on New User or Register Here.
  3. An application fee of Rs. 670 (including quota & application processing charges) has to be paid using the Credit, Debit Card, UPI, Wallet, or Net-Banking.
  4. One can download the application form, and then send it after duly filled to the respective university department through a registered post along with documents.
  5. For applying to PhD, you will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 1000 or Rs. 700 for (SC/ST) through SBI.
