Introspection in Islam !! Is Irfan Khan Right on Islam? :God of small thing

Introspection in Islam

Muslim clerics in India have slammed the actor over his apparently controversial remarks.

Maulana Abdul Wahid Khatri, state secretary of Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind, has advised him to concentrate on his film career, and not interfere in religious issues.

“It would be better if he concentrates on his film career and not make random statements about our religion. He is doing this just for the publicity of his upcoming movie,” Khatri said.

What did he say?

“The meaning of Qurbani is sacrificing something close to you not throwing money at any goat or sheep you see in the market… Because that way you are just spending money and it has nothing to do with personal sacrifice. People can only understand the true meaning of sacrifice and why it has been asked if you sacrifice something you love dearly.”

Introspection in Islam
Irrfan khan on islam

“In the early days of Islam, a lot of people were deprived of food and cattle were the prime source to feed them, hence their sacrifice had meaning.”

What Irrfan meant by the term”introspection “??

Introspection (or what is called Muhasaba in Arabic andEhtisab in Urdu) plays a very important role in Islam or every religion. Without introspection, you cannot stand on true faith. You should engage yourself in self-analysis, you cannot purify yourself in order to be selected for Paradise. Without self-observation and finding out and correcting your mistakes on a regular basis, you cannot save yourself from egoism, from arrogance, and from bad intentions.

According to my analysis, there are two fields for introspection. On the one hand are some evils that most people know to be bad. On the other hand, are hidden or secret evils. All evils or unwanted actions belong to either one of these categories. One should engage in regular introspection to check if one is engaging in either category of evil.

I feel There is little doubt that Islam is in the grip of a crisis. Rights activist, social reformer and author Ayyan Hirsi Ali, whose calls for reformation in Islam has met with persecution and death threats, writes in Heretic: Why Islam Needs a Reformation Now, one of her three books on the topic:

“There are many millions of peaceful Muslims in the world.

What I do say is that the call to violence and the justification

for it are explicitly stated in the sacred texts of Islam.

Moreover, this theologically sanctioned violence is there to

be activated by any number of offenses,

including but not limited to apostasy, adultery, blasphemy and even

something as vague as threats to family honor or to the

         honor of Islam itself.”

Introspection in the present can save you from punishment in the future. Using Introspection in the pre-death phase of your life can save you from punishment in your post-death phase.

It is thus an integral part of faith, of Islam, of being God-conscious, of piety. Without introspection, there is no Islam. Without introspection, there is no Muslim character.

Hence we feel that Irrfan khan is totally in place and has the right kind of attitude towards Islam and mankind. Do you agree with his beliefs??
