Bajirao chides her and reminds her that he will never fully be hers, He already had one wife. Mastani agrees, she is announced to become his second wife. This marriage was thought to be illegitimate. This film is based in the 2008 Noida double murder case. The case involved a teenage girl and her family’s servant. The investigation follows two perspectives. Either the parents are guilty or they are innocent. 14-year old Shruthi is found dead at her home by her parents. The local police force handling the case are extremely incompetent. Through a very poorly investigated case, the police declare this as an honor killing. The father, Ramesh is arrested for the murders.
The public was outraged at the victim-blaming in the situation. Ashwin Kumar (CDI) exonerates the parents and Ramesh is released from jail. He builds a case on Ramesh’s assistant. Complications happen and CDI files a report of the closure of the case. The parents protest against the closure. The judge rejects the closure report and accuses the parents in the case again. The parents are convicted as the murders months later. The movie follows the Roshomon effect, which has different interpretations of the same event.
