Anand L Rai’s Zero marks the reunion of the Jab Tak Hai Jaan trio on silver screens after 6 long years. Not only that, it has been 1.5 years that we have seen an SRK movie. And Zero is just the thing we were looking for.

2018 brought quite a lot of surprises. While small budget movies like Stree and Badhai ho received much love and success, 2 of the most anticipated and big-budget releases (Race3 and Thugs of Hindostan) tanked at the box office.

So there was much anticipation about this multi starrer movie. And the movies does not leave you disappointed. SRK is as charming as ever. Even the greatest critics would not deny that SRK has his own way to entertain the audience. His charming presence and grace is sure to leave a smile on everybody’s face.

Zero Movie Review: The Plot

Coming to ZERO, the movie starts in Meerut with Bauaa Singh(SRK) who is a vertically challenged man, but is everybody’s sweetheart. Bauaa has a huge crush on actress Babita Kumari(Katrina Kaif) but falls in love with a scientist Aafia Binder (Anushka). Bauaa and Aafia are introduced through a matrimony portal and the two fall in love. The first half of the move will keep you gripped with their love unusual but beautiful love story.

The things turn dramatic in the second half when Bauaa leaves for Mumbai to fulfill his ambitions. It’s here that we get to witness the Cameos by B town stars. The Ishqbaazi song is aptly placed and entertains us. The story then travels to NASA and then Mars. It is here that the movie loses track and does not convince us as much. It is here that the screenplay lacks the magic and the movie looks drawn and stretched.

Zero Movie Review: The Performance of the stars:

SRK as always charms us in romantic roles, this time Katrina surprised us with her commendable acting. Though she had a smaller screen presence, she did pull off her part really well and we would surely want to see more of these performances. Although Anushka’s role had tremendous potential, yet her mannerisms were not convincing enough. Similar is the inconsistency of the movie plot. It is very lively and vibrant at some point and very dull at others. Performances by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are a treat to watch. And so is the lovely music which is aptly placed in the plot.

Zero is not the best by SRK but is definitely worth a watch. His acting has been so flawless that it doesn’t look like srk is normal in real life. The second half of the movie will take you through an emotional ride which is in complete contrast to the first half. But that’s the beauty of the film.
