Sonam Kapoor Reveals Why She Had To Get Actor from Pakistan – God of Small Thing

It seems like nepotism tag is in no mood to leave the Bollywood. Every actor, if they belong to B-town have had a fair share of it when it comes to their debut film. However, just a handful have been able to live up to the expectations.

Coming from a Bollywood background doesn’t guarantee you a film, Sonam Kapoor, daughter of Anil Kapoor clarified it in an interview. Sonam said while clarifying her statement, “I had to give audition for every movie I have done. I am not a product of nepotism”.

She has been constantly saying that for so many years. Not only her fashion game is so strong but her film game is also strong. She has done a variety of films and played a different role in every film. From a fashionista in Aisha to a brave flight attendant in Neerja. From a doctor in Khoobsurat to a brave character in Veerey di wedding.

No Indian Actor Wanted To Work With Sonam Kapoor In Khoobsurat?

Lately, in an interview, she unveiled about the difficulties she faced while making of Aisha and Khoobsurat. She said, “ It was really difficult to make Aisha. And, it took so much effort to make khoobsurat. No male actor wants to act in the film because it was a female-centric movie. I had to get Fawad Khan from Pakistan. He is really sweet. See, he became a superstar. He has that confidence and charm.

Is It Really Difficult For Star Kids To Get A Film?

Despite being a daughter of a superstar, she also had to go through the fair amount of struggle. She claims that it doesn’t matter who you are, I have bagged all the films on my own. She said “when I came into the industry, everyone thought it was easy for me. They thought I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. They had no idea that I gave audition for Saawariya (2007)  and Delhi – 6 (2009). I have auditioned for every film that I have done. Every film that I have worked in bagged on my own. I was able to have the initial meeting. That’s it”.

Speaking about Delhi-6 she said, ” I know how many times I gave audition for a particular part. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra was known as the biggest filmmaker at that time. Every actor wanted to work with him. But, I was signed before Saawariya released. I was auditioned so many times for that movie.  Even for Saawariya, I auditioned with Ranbir Kapoor. I bagged all the films on my own “.

Recently, she was seen in the film Ek ladki ko Dekha toh aisa laga, though the film couldn’t perform well in the theaters. She was praised for her performance.

Even before that she was seen spreading her magic at Cannes.

Presently, she is working on a movie with Zoya. The movie is set to hit the theaters soon.

No wonder, how easy and glamorous it looks but every actor goes through struggle. It’s easy to get a debut film for those who are from B-town but it’s not that easy to spread the charm.
