Former Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj passes away at 67 after Heart Attack
Senior BJP stalwart Sushma swaraj passed away around 11 pm today. She was admitted in AIIMS Delhi on Tuesday. As per initial reports, Sushma swaraj suffered a major heart attack and she passed away.
BJP leaders Dr. Harshvardhan and Nitin Gadkari have reached AIIMS as well.
Sushma Swaraj a few hours ago congratulated Prime Minister for the scrapping of Article 370. She thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also applauded the speech by Amit Shah in Rajya sabha a day before.
Sushma Swaraj was one of the most prominent faces in BJP. She was amongst the top leaders of the party since 2003.
Sushma Swaraj was a major link between the government and the people. Sushma Swaraj was known for her kind behavior. Sushma was known as one of the most helpful leaders the country has ever witnessed. Sushma was quick and subtle to respond to any Indian who was in trouble anywhere across the world. It was believed that Sushma even used to help the opposition party leaders in case they need some kind of assistance in foreign affairs.
Sushma was foreign minister during for 2014-2019. She did not contest elections due to health issues. She is survived by husband Swaraj Kaushal and daughter Bansuri Kaushal.
A veteran politician, Sushma ji was the first woman to be the Minister of External Affairs of India from May 26, 2014 to May 30, 2019. This was her fourth term as a M.P in the Lok Sabha. She had also served three terms as a member of legislative assembly. Sushma ji became a cabinet minister in the Haryana government at the age of 25. She was also the first woman to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi.
