Super Bowl LVII

After an inevitably long January following the festive period, Super Bowl LVII will be hitting our TV screens. The 56th instalment of America’s most prized sporting event will take place on Sunday the 12th of February in front of a sold-out State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. With the Los Angeles Rams clinching victory from the jaws of defeat in a stunning display against the Cincinnati Bengals in this year’s contest, many sports fans not just in America, but around the world will be eagerly awaiting the next instalment of the Super Bowl. With the race to get there well underway, fans of the sport will be hoping that their team pull out all the stops and make it to the super bowl in 2023!

UEFA Champions League Final

Next, we turn to one of the most coveted prizes in the world of football, where the best teams in Europe battle it out to become UEFA Champions League winners! The 2023 tournament will take place in Istanbul in Turkey, with last year’s winners Real Madrid still in with a great chance of making the final again. The tournament has already delivered some interesting upsets, with Barcelona, Athletico Madrid and Juventus all exiting their groups and not making it to the last 16. Manchester City are the bookies favourite to lift the trophy, but to do that they will have to overcome some European heavyweights such as Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and fellow English rivals Liverpool. Regardless of who ends up making the final, we will be in for a special night in Istanbul!

Do you Know that the estimated fan following of football is 3.5 billion, a little less than half the world’s population. So let us check out the list of the 10 Richest Footballers in the World | Net Worth, Salary 2021

Tour De France

The Tour De France is the biggest event in Cycling, where in July 198 riders from 22 teams fight it out over 21 days to be Tour De France winners. The competing cyclists embark on a gruelling 3500km course across all terrains from flat roads to Mountains, where the rider with the lowest average time takes home the world-renowned yellow jersey. Last year, the bragging rights went to Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard who completed the course in 79 hours and 33 minutes, a remarkable time! As we look towards 2023’s race, be sure to look out for beautiful scenery, high drama and even a crash or two!

Wimbledon

The most historic and prestigious event in tennis will be taking place again next year between July 3rd – July 16th. The annual grass court tournament will see tennis’ greatest go head-to-head in the (occasionally) wonderful British summer heat. British fans will be hoping that home stars Cameron Norrie and Emma Raducanu go far in the tournament, where they will face stiff competition from top talent such as Novak Djokovic on the men’s side and Poland’s Iga Swiatek on the women’s side. It will be strange not seeing one of the all-time greats in Rodger Federer at the tournament, who decided to hang up his tennis shoes this season, but with an amazing mix of big names and up and coming stars on show, Wimbledon is certainly one you do not want to miss!

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will once again be the final event of the 2023 Formula One season, with the circuit delivering one of Formula One’s most controversial moments in 2021 when Max Verstappen went on to seal the driver’s championship by overtaking Lewis Hamilton on the last lap after some safety car shenanigans.

This year’s race went a lot smoother, with the pressure taken off it by the driver’s and constructors’ championship already being decided. With Mercedes having to play catch up to the Ferraris and Red Bulls for much of the season, it looks like they now finally have a car which can really challenge next year. This is a wonderful thing for the sport and for us fans, as we are likely to have 3 teams battling it out every weekend for a grand prix victory and this could mean that both championships go right down to the wire, leaving us a thrilling finish in the desert!

Conclusion
