We live in a country where people breathe Cricket. Not only boys but girls are the same when it comes to cricket. And, every girl’s dream man is the captain of the India Cricket team.
Everybody knows that Virat has taken the captaincy of the Indian team. Now, this has become the talk of the town. We know how M.S. Dhoni has taken care of the team. With his guidance, India became the number 1 team.

And here we have Virat Kohli as our captain. Indeed, he is the best player. Now, we have to see if he is a good captain or is going to be a good captain.
Well, looking at the matches, he guided till date has done good captaincy. Though, he is still new at tactics.
MS Dhoni knew how to keep up the good game. He was so good at tactics.
Is Virat Kohli the right choice for Captaincy?

2019 World Cup is on its way. And, this year is going to be a debut year for Virat Kohli as a World Cup captain. Well, he has lots of pressure. And, why not he has taken the place of Dhoni, who was the best captain. He has been giving his 100% since the day he was announced as the captain. He is in the learning phase.
We still don’t know, if he is going to make the right choice or not. If he is the right choice? He is the best batsman in the world, and there is no lie in the statement.
What Rohit Sharma has to say!

In an interview, vice-captain Rohit Sharma said, “it’s my responsibility to be on the side of Kohli whenever he needs or has doubts. Because at the time of Dhoni, experienced cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and many other senior players were there. Now, I and Virat Kohli have been helping each other out since so many years. Again, we are going to do”.
In an interview, asked by Kohli how was his experience in the world cups and what he got to learn from them. He said “ in 2011, I was not involved in a lot of meetings or anything. And, also in 2015, not involved that much in the things and didn’t know the pressure what it looks like “
“ Now I have to think differently, it’s not that whatever I am doing is new. But, I have to keep my strategy clear and now I know what pressure looks like. I would love to seek advice from mahi Bhai and Rohit. ” Virat Kohli added.

Virat Kohli and his Achievements:
Kohli is the only first Asian captain to beat Australia in bilateral test series in its hometown. He is the first skipper to not to lose any match across formats in Australia.

No doubt, he is an incredible batsman. Well, he surpassed Dhoni’s record of 10 consecutive win across all formats.
Kohli became the first Indian captain to score double centuries in 84 years, he scored it in West Indies in 2016. He has the most double centuries as India’s test captain.
Virat is known as the best ODI captain. He has guided our Indian team in 60 matches and made them win 44 matches.
We bet you don’t know these things about Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli vs MS Dhoni Comparision:
MS Dhoni took over the captaincy from Sourav Ganguly, who itself was known as the best captain. He had to stand up to the expectation of lots of people. Well, we know that Dhoni is quite a cool captain. No matter what the situation was, he dealt with every situation very calmly. In his initial years, he also had to struggle a lot.

Sometimes he was known as the best captain and sometimes as a bad captain. Well, his style of captaining was quite defensive. Due to that, the Indian team has lost a few matches which they would have won.
Back when Kohli took the responsibility from Dhoni. Everybody was quite curious because they thought he is too aggressive. But, he took advantage of this nature and turned everything upside down for the whole team. Though we don’t know who is the better captain. They both are the best in their own way.
But one thing that everyone says that no one can ever get the mindset Dhoni has during the game. He is just commendable at his job.

Let’s Look at the Strategies used by MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli:
More than 5 strike bowlers matters?

Dhoni’s mindset was way too different. He used to take 1-2 extra bowlers like Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, and Kedar Jadhav, apart from 5 strike bowlers. If any of the bowlers are having a bad day, as the bowler concedes run to the other team, Dhoni replaces that bowler with the extra bowler. But, in Virat Kohli captaincy it’s quite different. He only depends on those 5 strike bowlers. He rarely goes with the other players. Sometimes it leaves the team with short of options. We have seen this last year in the ODI against South Africa.
Are the changes necessary for the team?
If Dhoni has chosen one team and if that team succeeds then he keeps on playing with that team. He is not much of a changer when it comes to a winning team. If a player gets injured or is not in the form, then he considers changing that player. In Dhoni captaincy, newcomers had a hard time to get into the team. Whereas in Virat Kohli captaincy, changing and chopping is a must. He loves change. In his captaincy, everybody gets a fair chance. Just because of that everybody starts playing for their place in the team. There was a huge competition for the number 4 slot. Well, examples are Dinesh Karthik, Ajinkya Rahane and Kannur Lokesh Rahul.
Keep your team together and closely knit:
Dhoni had this strategy of keeping a player in the team for long. If he sees any quality in that player and thinks that player is capable enough, then he keeps that player in the team. We have a live example before 2013 Rohit Sharma used to play at fifth or sixth position, after seeing his potential, Dhoni gave him the chance to play as an opener. And, you can see how he is the best opener till date.

Kohli has this habit of changing and chopping the team every time. If the person is not capable enough then he changes that player. Over the past couple of years, people have been rejecting. They are the victims of that chopping – Shreyas Iyer, Siddharth Kaul, Mohammed Shami, Dinesh Karthik.
When asked by Kapil Dev who is the best captain between Dhoni and Kohli, then he said “Dhoni and Kohli have done a commendable job for India. Both of them are unmatchable”.
As the World Cup is approaching, search for number four spot is on. This is what Kapil dev has to say in this –
“Well, there has been a search going on for number four spot. It is difficult to pick a person. Dhoni went before Yuvraj in 2011 World cup final. A lot has changed in the last ten years in the cricket.” added Kapil Dev.

World Cup 2019 Schedule for India:

Well, they both are a totally different person. Two persons can’t be the same right? Their captaincy style is also so different. Their style is unique in itself. Though some believe that the Indian team can never get a captain like Dhoni, he is the best. And, some says a team is at its best position in Virat Kohli’s captaincy. It is obviously difficult to judge both of them. If one is a lion, then another is tsunami which can create havoc. Though we don’t care who is the best or worst until our team is winning, right?
We would love to know what you all think! Who do you think is the best captain according to you? Comment down below!
