Imran Mirza has confirmed that his daughter, Sania Mirza, has divorced Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.
In addition to having a kid named Izhaan Mirza Malik, who is five years old, the tennis player, who is 37 years old, and Malik had been married for more than a decade.
Malik recently made the announcement that he is getting married for the third time to the Pakistani actress Sana Javed, which has led to rumours that he is going to divorce Sania.
Imran Mirza indicated that the divorce was a khula, which is the right of a Muslim woman to divorce her husband in a manner that is unilateral.
He also stated that the divorce was a unilateral divorce. Regarding the matter, Sania Mirza has not yet provided any comments.
In the past, Malik had been married to Ayesha Siddiqui for a period of eight years until their divorce was finalised in the year 2010.
Throughout her career, Sania Mirza won six Grand Slam championships and held the number one ranking in doubles. Her last match was in February 2023, when she competed in a WTA Dubai event.
