10. Govinddevji temple

Govinddevji temple Location:

Govinddevji temple is a prominent religious site in Jaipur. The principal deity of this temple is Lord Krishna. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh was an ardent devotee of Krishna. Lord Krishna was also the chief God of the Rajput royal family. So, the Maharaja decided to make a Krishna temple near his palace. Jawahar Kala Kendra is an art exhibition center in Jaipur. Built in 1991, the center was established to encourage and promote the skilled artisans and culture in Jaipur and Rajasthan as a whole. The center which is made of red sandstone is famous for its architecture. It was designed by Charles Correa, a foreign architect. Additionally, the name of the center and its establishment is dedicated to the first Prime Minister of India: Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The center houses several structures ranging from museums, galleries, libraries, theatres, and auditoriums. Each section is inspired from the Navagrahas or the nine planet system that has roots in mythology.

Some of the major attractions include Sandharbh, the library, Rangayan and Krishnayan, the two supplementary theaters, Alankar museum, one of the best of its kind, Shilpgram, a rural setting, and Madhyavarti, the central, massive theater. Moreover, the best time to visit is during the art festivals at the museum. These are known as Navras and Lokrang, and display a vibrant presentation of Rajasthani culture and heritage.
