The most important aspect of the game known as cricket is scoring runs. It’s as basic as that: runs win games. The Indian Premier League, or IPL, awards maximum run scores in each season in the shape of an orange cap. Orange cap winners in the IPL stand out from the crowd. The highest-scoring player wears it during the IPL season. This distinctive orange cap in IPL is awarded at the end of the tournament to the player who has scored the most runs during the season. If two batsmen score the same amount of runs, the man with the greater strike rate is awarded the orange cap. We all know that cricket is a team sport in which every player participates, but recognising individual talent is vital. 14. Orange Cap in IPL 2021: Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became only the third batter in the franchise’s history to hit 600 runs in an Indian Premier League season as the three-time winners sealed their place in the IPL 2021 final by defeating Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1. Gaikwad got his first IPL century against the Rajasthan Royals on October 2, 2021, with 101 not out. On 15 October, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the finals, with Gaikwad adding 32 runs off 27 balls to CSK’s total. He was given the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs (635) in the 2021 competition, as well as Emerging Player of the Year.

KL Rahul, the captain of Kings 11 Punjab (now Punjab Kings), will wear the orange hat in the IPL 2020 season. In 14 innings, he scored 670 runs. He had 5 fifties and 1 hundred, with the best score being an unbroken 132 versus RCB and an average of 55.83. He ended the tournament as the tournament’s top scorer, earning him the orange hat. Shikhar Dhawan of the Delhi Capitals finished second with 618 runs. With 548 runs, he was followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner. He finished the season as the team’s leading scorer with 626 runs in IPL 2021.

12. Orange Cap in IPL 2019: David Warner

David Warner has been given the Orange Cap for the 2019 IPL season. He had 692 runs in his bag at the end of the season. Warner appeared in 12 IPL matches during the 2019 season. His continuing hitting prowess helped his team nearly miss out on a postseason position. His 12 innings contained eight half-centuries and a magnificent century. Throughout the season, he also hit 57 fours and 21 sixes. Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough to help his team win the championship.

11. Orange Cap in IPL 2018: Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson, the Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper from New Zealand, won the orange cap in 2018. He undoubtedly returned the Sunrisers’ management for their trust in him with his superb performance. His batting prowess almost earned Hyderabad a second title, as he guided his club to the final against the famous Chennai Super Kings. In 17 innings, he scored a whopping 735 runs. Kane has eight half-centuries. During the 2018 season, he also hit 64 fours and 28 sixes. Because of his outstanding batting performance, he was awarded his first orange cap in 2018.

10. Orange Cap in IPL 2017: David Warner

During the 2017 IPL season, the Australian was in the greatest shape of his life. He impressively scored 641 runs in 14 innings of play this season. His recital contained four half-centuries and a lovely tonne. His 126-run total was the best in IPL history for a skipper (KL Rahul broke the record in IPL 2020 with a brilliant knock of 132 against RCB in Dubai). With 63 boundaries and 26 sixes, he overwhelmed the bowlers. Despite the fact that his club did not make the playoffs, he was awarded the orange cap.

9. IPL 2016 Orange Cap winner: Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, won the orange cap in 2016. Kohli became the first player in IPL history to hit over 900 runs in a single season during the season. He finished the tournament with 973 runs. Kohli appeared in 16 games this season. Despite the fact that his club, RCB, failed at the last hurdle, Virat Kohli had an IPL to remember. He has seven half-centuries and four centuries to his name. He hit 83 fours and 38 sixes in all.

8. IPL 2015 Orange Cap winner: David Warner

David Warner received his first IPL orange hat in 2015. In 14 games, he scored 562 runs. He played fewer games than the clubs that qualified for the playoffs, but he still chose the orange cap at the end of the season. Throughout the season, he hit 65 fours and 21 sixes.

7. IPL 2014 Orange Cap winner: Robin Uthappa

Kolkata Knight Riders picked Robin for the seventh season of the IPL. He did not do well in the opening leg of the event, which was held in the United Arab Emirates. Uthappa was subsequently elevated to open with Gautam Gambhir and played admirably in the India portion of the season. Hussey played for the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, and he became the competition’s second century-scoring batsman after New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum. 4. IPL 2011 Orange Cap winner: Chris Gayle

Gayle chose to join the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the fourth season of the Indian Premier League in 2011, after being left out of the first portion of the West Indies T20 and one-day home series against Pakistan. In his first game against his old side, the Kolkata Knight Riders, he struck 102 off 55 balls, striking 10 fours and seven sixes. On 6 May 2011, he got another century, this time 107 off 49 balls against Kings XI Punjab in Bangalore, with 10 fours and 9 sixes. Gayle received the Orange Cap Award for scoring the most runs in the tournament, totalling 608 in 12 games. He was vital in several Royal Challengers Bangalore triumphs, earning five Man of the Match accolades as well as the Player of the Tournament title for his efforts.

3. IPL 2010 Orange Cap winner: Sachin Tendulkar

Despite missing the first four games of the competition, Marsh scored the most runs in the league stage, including a century against the Rajasthan Royals in the last league stage match. He won the orange hat for scoring the most runs during the 2008 IPL competition.
